A substation is part of the electricity generating, transmission and distribution system. A primary substation connects high and medium voltage systems and can increase or decrease the voltage as required.
Due to maintenance, upgrades or repairs, it may be necessary to temporarily disconnect or shutdown power at a customer-owned substation or primary service. Completion of this work will require a primary/substation isolation from Elexicon Energy.
The fees for this service are listed below and include one disconnect and reconnect. Elexicon crews will leave after disconnecting the service and will return for the reconnect once the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) Connection Authorization is received.
If you want Elexicon crews to complete on-site training, check-ins, or to stay on site during the work, this is outside the scope of the service, and there may be additional charges. You must inform Elexicon when the original request is submitted. Please contact the Connections Coordinator for more information.

Completion of this form does not guarantee an appointment for the requested date. An Elexicon representative will contact you to review the details of your request and confirm your appointment date and time.
Please remember, Elexicon staff cannot operate your equipment (44kV switches, etc.) due to liability issues and therefore, you are required to have your electrical contractor operate all customer-owned equipment.
If requested to operate customer-owned equipment, Elexicon staff have the right to refuse, and your isolation may be cancelled. Elexicon will provide isolation. The contractor is responsible for applying their own working grounds. Please ensure that you have the necessary operators on site to avoid any work delays or appointment cancellations.
Elexicon requires a minimum of two (2) business days notice when cancelling a primary/substation isolation. If the appointment is cancelled without the required notice, the charges below will apply.
Based on the information provided, Elexicon will contact you with available dates to schedule the service.
On the date scheduled, Elexicon crews will disconnect the service. You or your representative must be on site. Elexicon will reconnect the service upon receipt of the ESA Connection Authorization.
