We’re Growing Our Future – As development in Elexicon Energy’s service area increases, so will the need for electricity. That’s why we continue to invest in maintaining, upgrading, and expanding the infrastructure that will safely and reliably power our future.

With the population of our service territory expected to double over the next two decades[1] Elexicon Energy is reinvesting in our aging infrastructure, building capacity and investing in new assets.

Seaton Transformer Station

Energized on December 11, 2022, the Seaton Municipal Transformer Station is Elexicon Energy’s first municipal transformer station owned and operated by the organization. It will provide connection capacity for approximately 20,000 homes and businesses in the City of Pickering and Town of Ajax to support the growth in these communities and allow for renewable energy resources.

Belleville Operations Centre

On July 5, 2023, Elexicon Energy held a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the completion of its new Belleville Operations Centre. The 16,000 square feet facility houses staff from Lines, Metering, Engineering & GIS teams all under one roof, and is a wonderful example of Elexicon’s commitment to the communities that it serves as well as to their economic development and prosperity. As Elexicon’s eastern energy hub, the organization is committed to supporting the Government of Ontario’s goals to building homes faster and ensuring reliability and resiliency for all customers – residential and commercial.

Rapid Transit Expansion

In order to enable construction of dedicated Rapid Transit Bus Lanes in the Hwy #2 corridor of Pickering Elexicon Energy began engineering assessments and design work in 2021 to relocate existing underground feeder infrastructure located in the right of way intended for the bus lanes.
