No one should have to worry about paying their monthly expenses. That’s why Elexicon Energy is dedicated to giving customers in need of financial assistance access to resources to help them to pay their electricity bill.

The programs below have been developed to help low-income households manage their energy costs.

Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)

LEAP helps eligible low-income customers with a grant of up to $650 per household or $780 if your home is heated electrically through the Ontario Energy Board (OEB). Customers will see the credit on their electricity bill.

How to qualify for LEAP

To qualify for LEAP you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an Elexicon Energy customer
  • You’re behind on your electricity bill and face having your service disconnected
  • Your household income falls below a certain limit. The amount of income it takes to qualify depends on two factors:
    • How many people live in the house
    • Your combined household income

Please see the following chart for guidance:

LEAP EFA income eligibility criteria

Household after tax income ($) Number of people living in home
1 2 3 4 5 6 7

Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP)

Eligible low-income customers can receive a credit through the OESP program. The amount of the credit will depend on how many people live in your household and the combined household income. If you use electric medical devices, or if your home is heated with electricity, you may be provided with additional savings.
