When trees and branches come in contact with power lines, it can cause power outages and damage to electrical equipment. To ensure public safety and the reliable operation of our electricity distribution network, Elexicon Energy uses approved contractors to trim trees and maintain adequate clearance around overhead power lines.
Tree trimming, mandated by the Ontario Energy Board, must be performed on a three-year cycle. The line clearing maintenance program work involves pruning municipal and privately owned trees. There is no cost to homeowners, and property clean up is the responsibility of the contractor
Professional line clearing contractors are performing tree trimming work in the communities listed below.
