Celebrate World Mental Health Day at Ontario Shores with second annual Journeys of Hope: The Lighter Side of Mental Health presented by Elexicon Energy.

WHITBY, ON — October 2, 2024 – In honour of World Mental Health Day on October 10, the Ontario Shores Foundation for Mental Health and Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences are thrilled to host the second annual “Journeys of Hope” event, presented, again, by Elexicon Energy. This year, Journeys of Hope will explore “The Lighter Side of Mental Health” during an exclusive event featuring a cocktail reception and a live comedy performance by comedian and mental health advocate Susan Stewart, emceed by Kevin Frankish.

Journey of Hope

As the headliner sponsor of this important event, Elexicon Energy is dedicated to empowering communities and supporting initiatives that promote well-being. Their commitment to Ontario Shores highlights the significance of mental health awareness in building resilient communities.

“Elexicon Energy’s continued generosity and support of this event means everything,” said Tracy Clegg, CEO of the Ontario Shores Foundation. “Their commitment helps build real momentum for the true mental health movement we aim to inspire, both within Ontario Shores and for everyone impacted by mental health.”

Ontario Shores is one of only four mental health hospitals in Ontario and has been providing compassionate, exemplary mental health care for over 100 years on the shores of Lake Ontario in Whitby. The Foundation relies on generous community support to help prevent the most devastating consequences of mental illness and to enhance patient care through innovative programs and research.

“At Elexicon Energy, we know that being safe and well is vital to our well-being, and we take pride in proactively working towards a better tomorrow that’s simply better, for all,” said Stacia Boss, Acting President and CEO at Elexicon Energy. “This is something we have in common with Ontario Shores – the goal of a better tomorrow for everyone, no matter what challenges they may be facing. We are pleased and honoured to join Ontario Shores again this year on World Mental Health Day and support their Journeys of Hope initiative.”

Join us for an evening filled with inspiration, connection, and laughter as we celebrate mental health and the journeys we all take toward hope and healing. Tickets are available for purchase at www.ontarioshores.ca/JourneysOfHope.
