Primary/Substation Isolation Guidelines

A substation is part of the electricity generating, transmission and distribution system. A primary substation connects high and medium voltage systems and can increase or decrease the voltage as required.

Due to maintenance, upgrades or repairs, it may be necessary to temporarily disconnect or shutdown power at a customer-owned substation or primary service. Completion of this work will require a primary/substation isolation from Elexicon Energy.

Fees

The fees for this service are listed below and include one disconnect and reconnect. Elexicon crews will leave after disconnecting the service and will return for the reconnect once the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) Connection Authorization is received.

If you want Elexicon crews to complete on-site training, check-ins, or to stay on site during the work, this is outside the scope of the service, and there may be additional charges. You must inform Elexicon when the original request is submitted. Please contact the Connections Coordinator for more information.
