AJAX, ON — July 20, 2022 – A community-wide power outage in Cannington, originally scheduled for Friday, July 22, has been moved to Sunday, July 24 from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. The two hour planned power interruption is required to allow crews to safely perform important maintenance work at Elexicon Energy’s Laidlaw Substation.
“We recognize that power interruptions – planned or unplanned – are an inconvenience to our valued customers,” says Craig Smith, Manager, Stations & System Control. “The work being performed in Cannington is vital to ensuring our electricity system network continues to operate in peak condition. Our talented crews and system operators will safely perform the work as quickly as possible to ensure that the inconvenience is minimal.”
