Single-phase wiring is the most common wiring in residential buildings, and it can also be found in some smaller commercial buildings.
When requesting a single-phase service connection on a commercial property, you provide the project details and Elexicon Energy will determine if the existing equipment can handle the load increase, or if an equipment change or service upgrade is required.
Based on the information provided, a Technician will review your application and current service to determine if there is sufficient capacity to complete the connection or if an upgrade of Elexicon facilities is required.
Contact the Connections Coordinator with the requested isolation date for the connection. The Connections Coordinator will confirm availability with you and schedule the work, sending an email confirmation with the appointment information.
The customer must ensure that the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) is able to inspect the work on the day of the connection or have issued a pre-authorized ESA Connection Authorization. Elexicon cannot connect a service without a valid ESA Connection Authorization. The ESA Connection Authorization is for work completed on the customer-owned equipment.
On the scheduled day, Elexicon will connect the service. You must ensure that you or your electrician is on site.
Elexicon will connect the service after receiving the ESA Connection Authorization and/or notification, as required. For a pre-authorized ESA Connection Authorization, you will contact Elexicon to request the reconnection when you are ready.
If the work does not have a pre-authorized ESA Connection Authorization, ESA will send the Connection Authorization directly to Elexicon once the inspection has been completed and passed. Once received, Elexicon will complete the connection.
At this stage, you may proceed with your construction, following Elexicon’s standards and all instructions outlined in the Service Layout. Contact Elexicon’s Connections Technician for any technical questions or feedback.
Provide the following requirements and if all conditions are met, Elexicon will proceed with scheduling the connection.
