What does international Women’s Day mean to you?
To me, International Women's Day means giving women the ability to be their best self.
What has been the greatest achievement in your career?
The greatest achievement, thus far, in my career is stepping outside the comfort zone of an office role and doing something completely different. To conquer learning two types of lift trucks has been a feat in itself. Learning equipment I had no previous knowledge of, has provided a new set of skills and abilities. I have been able to take skills learned in a previous work life and apply them to this new role. It is beneficial to have worked on the opposite end of things as I know how different tasks affect other positions.
Why is it important to #InspireInclusion and to continue to work towards gender equality?
It is important to embrace each other and our differences, and finding inspiration among ourselves and our peers is a tool that often is not utilized in ways it could be. When we are inclusive we can bring in different perspectives that might otherwise be overlooked. A fresh pair of eyes on existing processes can allow for improvement and betterment. It is great achievement that we now have the choice to pursue roles that have previously been out of reach.
