What does International Women’s Day mean to you?

It is a day to acknowledge and honour women around the world for the contributions that we make each day.

What has been the greatest achievement in your career?

The majority of my career was in manufacturing and I succeeded in male-dominated, unionized environments. I grew up being confident in my decisions and I’ve had a variety of mentors (including men). I’ve also created a network of women, learned to step out of my comfort zone to advocate for myself and I always have fun at work. Throughout my career, I have built great teams, and my greatest achievement was target hiring women to increase the representation in very good paying manufacturing jobs.

Why is it important to #InspireInclusion and to continue to work towards gender equality?

From someone who oversees an organization’s Talent Management, to #InspireInclusion is to not only be business smart as it broadens the talent pool but it contributes to the success of organization’s culture overall. We have so much diversity here in Canada and we should be using that diversity as our strength. Creating more gender equality builds better societies and allows everyone to benefit.
