Vice President, Customer Experience
What does International Women’s Day mean to you?
It’s a day to champion and celebrate the strength of people that identify as women. Women are everyday superheroes, and this day is to reinforce that their unique superpowers should be given the proper space and support to flourish.
I am fortunate to have exceptionally strong women leaders, peers and friends who support my success as a leader, a peer, a mother and a friend. I am energized by the strength of other women. I do not take that for granted and also acknowledge that many people here in Canada and across the globe are not afforded the same support and opportunities that I have received.
International Women’s Day is a celebration for all. A day to celebrate the women and people who previously opened the doors ahead of us, and to look for ways to champion groups of people that continue to face barriers and unequal access to opportunities and resources.
What has been the greatest achievement in your career?
I feel very fortunate and appreciate the amazing career experiences I’ve had over the past 23 years. My career successes have been both rewarding and satisfying, and I have also experienced some low points in my journey. In my opinion, the low points are as important as the highs. They are a reminder of the mental and emotional strength required to define, appreciate, and recognize your own success. I am excited to see what lies ahead.
Why is it important to #InspireInclusion and to continue to work towards gender equality?
International Women’s Day is an important day for pausing and assessing the current states of our communities and beyond. Creating gender equality and supporting one another is a very important aspect if we want to be successful and #InspireInclusion. My hope for the future is that my daughter and other children globally will be able to ask, ‘what if’ when tackling large challenges instead of asking the question ‘why not’.
