What does International Women’s Day mean to you?
International Women’s Day is a moment of reflection, celebration, and action. As an immigrant woman, I have experienced firsthand the deep cultural transformations that come with stepping into a new world—balancing tradition with new opportunities, and challenges with resilience. Women, by nature, are creators. Not just in the biological sense, but in the way we shape lives, nurture communities, and bring depth and meaning to the world around us.
To me, IWD is about embracing the power within us, the strength, and the freedom to bloom without limits. It’s a reminder that every woman, no matter where she is from or what path she walks, deserves the space to grow, thrive, and lead. And together, we accelerate action to make this a reality for all.
What has been the greatest achievement in your career?
My greatest achievement has been the ability to adapt, grow, and make an impact in an entirely new country and industry. Coming from an engineering background and stepping into the energy sector, I have had to navigate a different professional landscape while staying true to my expertise, ambition, and values.
I take pride in not only mastering the technical aspects of my role but also in building bridges—between teams, processes, and ideas. My role involves improving systems, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiency, but beyond that, it’s about problem-solving, creating opportunities, and leading change. More than any single project or milestone, my biggest achievement is proving that perseverance, knowledge, and resilience can open doors, no matter where you start.
Why is it important to #AccelerateAction and to continue to work towards gender equality?
Because we cannot wait. At the current pace, it will take generations to close the gender gap. We bring innovation, leadership, and a unique depth to every space we enter, and our voices must be heard, our work must be valued, and our growth must be supported.
Sisterhood is powerful. When women stand together, lifting each other up, we don’t just change policies—we transform industries, societies, and futures. Accelerating action means breaking down barriers faster, pushing forward together, and ensuring that no woman has to walk this path alone.
I stand for a world where women, regardless of their background, nationality, or circumstances, can bloom freely. A world where our contributions are recognized not as exceptions, but as essential. The time to act is now. Together, we move forward—not just for ourselves, but for the generations to come.
