How to read your electricity bill

The costs for the electricity that you use, the services Elexicon Energy provides and other costs including:

 

  • Delivery – This is the cost of delivering electricity from generation stations across the Province of Ontario to Elexicon Energy, and then to your home or business.
  • Regulatory – The Independent System Operation (IESO) uses this money to manage the supply and demand of electricity throughout the Province of Ontario.
  • HST – This amount represents the provincial Harmonized Sales Tax.
  • Ontario Electricity Rebate (OER) – Effective November 1, 2019, the Government of Ontario introduced the new Ontario Electricity Rebate (OER), which provides eligible customers with a rebate on their electricity bill.

The cost of electricity supplied during this billing period. Kilowatt-hour (kWh) rates are set by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB).

Electricity charges for the current billing period. New charges are due on the due date provided on your bill.

Outstanding charges brought forward from previous billing periods, including partial payments made. Previous charges are due immediately upon receipt of your bill.

Total amount due, including new and previous charges.

Your account information, including a unique account number, the name on the account, service address and service type.

The date your bill was issued, payment amount due, the date your payment is due or will be withdrawn from your account (if Pre-Authorized), and your usage.

Important updates or information about your account, services or Elexicon Energy.

Illustration of your electricity consumption over the last 13 months (if available), including the price option you were billed for the period.

How to read your electricity bill

Provides information related to your meter and consumption for the billing period for this bill.

Includes information on where to register for Elexicon Energy’s on-line customer portal.

 

Customers can view account specific information such as view usage and bills, process service orders, sign up for e-billing, make payments and find other valuable information on the customer portal.

Includes business hours and provides options for contacting Elexicon Energy.

Includes information on when bills are due and how interest is calculated along with available payment options.
